A helpful reminder ... of things to concentrate on when about to take your practical driving test

VISUALISATION

Visualisation can be very helpful when it comes to your Driving Test.

If you’re into computer games, just imagine that when you’re on your driving test that you’re in a big computer game. Imagine that three people are trying to make you fail your driving test, but you are going to be determined to make sure that no one and no situation is going to make you fail. Carry this on into your driving after you have successfully passed your driving test too. Remember that there is no reset button!

When driving on your driving test, to relieve the anxiety use visualisation and imagine a few of the following:

* View it just like another driving lesson with your driving instructor and just follow the directions given.

* Imagine you are giving the examiner a lift somewhere but you’re not sure of the directions so the examiner is telling which way to go.

* If you’re into your computer games you could imagine that you’re ‘inside’ a computer game and that three people are trying to catch you out and make you fail, but you’re going to be so determined that no one is going to catch you out.

* Don’t let anyone prevent you from getting your full driving licence. The one who does prevent you is the one you didn’t see or react safely to.

* In any given situation just imagine what your driving instructor would have advised you to do, what an experienced driver who you respect would do in that same situation.
