Be kind and considerate to others when driving. Don’t make things difficult for others or for yourself.

Most importantly, if you decide to give way to another road user, DO NOT beckon them to go before you, but leave it to them to make that decision.

To beckon another road user is to put them into possible danger.

Although you feel that you are being generous to someone by allowing them to go first, they interpret your actions as that you are saying that ‘it is SAFE for them to go first’. They then may not observe the conditions as precisely as they should had you not beckoned them.
