FOLLOWING DISTANCE – DRIVING BEHIND LARGER VEHICLES

When driving behind larger vehicles such as lorries, buses, vans, people carriers, 4×4’s etc keep you distance. Ensure that you can see what is happening in front of them so that you can be prepared to slow down or stop if necessary if the vehicle ahead of them intends to turn off or stop. Also make sure that you can see their side mirrors, so that you know that they can see you.
