A helpful reminder ... of things to concentrate on when about to take your practical driving test

OBSERVATION

How confident are you in your observation skills when you’re behind the wheel of the car? Being aware of all your surroundings is crucial when driving, or setting off to drive. But you also need to remember that your surroundings are constantly changing. There may have been no risks a moment ago, but a second later, a pedestrian could step into the road, or another vehicle could pull out unexpectedly.

Observation should be on the top of your list whenever you step into a vehicle. Check all around your vehicle BEFORE you release the hand-brake (parking brake). As a pedestrian, when would you step off the kerb into the road? Stepping out is the equivalent of releasing the handbrake.
