AT A GREEN TRAFFIC LIGHT

Do you know the best way to turn right at a green traffic light? When you’re approaching traffic lights with the intention to turn into the road on your right, it’s important to not end up inadvertently causing issues for other road users.

When the traffic light is green, take up the normal position for turning into a side road on your right instead of waiting behind the ‘stop’ line at the green traffic light. Then when there is no oncoming traffic, the green filter light comes on, or the traffic light turns to red you complete the right-hand turn. If you don’t complete the turn you will block the traffic from your right when the traffic light changes to green for them.
