Welcome
My name is Martin Caswell and I am a DVSA ADI, with a wealth of experience which I would like to share with you.
I have been teaching for over 46 years (I qualified in 1974) and a lot of the procedures, as well as the driving test itself, has changed over those years.
I have worked for driving schools in London, Plymouth and Belfast before setting up my own independent driving school in 1981, where I expanded into a multi-car driving school.
Since 1984, I have operated a single-car independent driving school in West Berkshire.
I am qualified in the following areas:
- off-road pre-17’s
- off-road 4×4
- skid control tuition to motor-racing students
- racing saloon cars at Brands Hatch
- skid control to London Ambulance Service
- skid control to Metropolitan Police, including anti-hijack driving techniques to staff drivers of the American Embassy
As well as these areas, a specialty of mine has been to teach nervous and anxious students through building their confidence to handle anything the road, traffic and weather conditions can throw at them. Through my years of experience I have developed a range of techniques – which you will discover in my book – to help any new driver overcome challenges and learn any new manoeuvres with ease. With a much higher than average driving test pass rate for my pupils, these techniques have been proven to work time and time again – and I want to share my tips and advice with you too.

The book is easy to read and very concise- it has definitely helped me to put my fears at rest when confronted with more challenging aspects of driving such as roundabouts!
